In 2012-15 over 26,000 participants at 419 events throughout Los Angeles and as far away as Iran and Australia took the I CAN WE CAN pledge. Using their hand as a canvas, individuals and communities made a commitment to help end the violence. We extend an ongoing invitation to pledge your commitment and upload your I CAN Hand on this website and join the community united to end domestic violence and sexual assault. The I CAN WE CAN initiative has resources available in eight languages: English, español, 漢語, 한국어, Tiếng Việt, 日本語, ภาษาไทย, فارسی
As a continuation of the I CAN WE CAN initiative, we are very excited to introduce the Digital Storytelling project! The next chapter of I CAN WE CAN is organized by AWBW in collaboration with Los Angeles-based media artist Cheri Gaulke, and is powered by our agency partners to spark dialogue and amplify voices of those not often heard. Digital Storytelling is the modern expression of the ancient form of storytelling – enabling us to share stories and make a meaningful connection with others.
A Collective Journey In celebration of A Window Between Worlds' 25th Anniversary, we welcome you to be a part of Touchstones, a year-long interactive art project that invites you to create and carry small, glass stones, using them as a resource to access wisdom, strength, and courage. Download the Touchstones map to join this shared journey.
